New Demos and a Christmas Show: Margaret and I just finished full band recordings for two of our songs, the honky-tonk toe-tapper "I Do" and the rocker "Don't Come Back". Both songs were recorded at Fortune Sound in Lebanon, TN. Special thanks to Scooter Burton (drums) and Rusty Sweeton (guitars/bass) for outstanding jobs! Roger Morris came in to lay down some great keys on "I Do". We have a couple of shows upcoming at the Bluebird Cafe. A complete list of shows is on Margaret's Myspace page. One of the upcoming shows is a Bluebird employees' Christmas Special that I will be hosting on December 16th at 6:00pm. The show will feature performances from the two Christmas CD's I've produced the last two years. There will be traditional songs as well as some original holiday tunes written by my fellow employees. It promises to be a great show!
The big news is that my old mini van has been retired and I now have a full-sized cargo van for gear hauling. The extra working room is a big help! Thanks to Lebanon Wholesale Automotive for the fine service.
Lebanon High School is having their annual "Senior Night" on November 15th. Once again I am assisting them with their production. It's always so well-done and classy. A big screen TV on either side of the stage with video shots of students, special produtions, and a live feed of the performance. Great for restringing or working on your guitar, bass or other string instrument! My first batch has sold out and I'm almost done wtih a new batch. They are hand made out of Red Oak for a sturdy support. Stained and finished with a hand-rubbed polyurethane for toughness. Non-marking foam rubber cap keeps the neck from getting marred up. Rubber feet on the bottom insure they don't move while working on your guitar.
Enhanced CD's Add videos, pictures, and other information to display on a PC computer AND have your songs play on a typical CD player. Check out more info by clicking MULTI-MEDIA. Chirpings from "The Bluebird Cafe"
Amy Kurland, after 25 years of building one of Nashville's finest musical institutions, has turned control of the club over to the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) as of January 1, 2008. It's a wonderful fit for the club that has dedicated itself to songwriters worldwide. Not much is planned to change and so far it's business as usual at The 'Bird. Don't forget all reservations are now done online through the Bluebird's web site. Current shows are listed at BluebirdCafe.com. Check out the LINKS page for a partial list of other clubs in the Nashville area. |
