About Me: Just so you have a better idea of the nut behind this wheel, I'll give you my version of ME. I was born in 1962 and raised in the Los Angeles area of California. My parents moved there from Cleveland, Ohio in the 50's. I have an older brother and a younger sister. My brother, who is 11 years older than myself, is the one who turned me on to music when I was still a small kid. I grew up listening to TONS of Beatles. To this day, Magical Mystery Tour is my favorite album of theirs. In the 80's I was involved in a couple of local (Los Angeles, CA) garage bands. I had the most fun with LUNCH, who's lifespan was between 1986-1988. In 2005 after 17 years of inactivity, we had the opportunity to get back together twice in one year. The second time was to play a live show at The Echo on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles for a CD release show. Earlier incantations of LUNCH appeared on the two albums that were featured that night. Stay tuned for a link to a page dedicated to the band. For 17 years I sold house paint. I started off stocking shelves ("gee, what's spackle?") and moved on to ordering stuff for those shelves. After the local store I worked for was bought by the regional chain, I moved to store manager. I ended up managing 3 different stores before moving to Tennessee in 1996. The move was a result of my wife landing a job in Lebanon, Tn. With the support of Fakes and Hooker Decorating in Lebanon, I studied and became an Industrial Coatings Specialist. Yes, I have papers tucked away in storage to prove it. On February 20th of 2001, I decided that my run in the paint business was over. That was also the day I lost my razor. I then turned my attention to my life long love of music. I decided I wanted to work with artists by running sound and recording them. With the blessing of my wonderful wife, I started On The Run Sound with big dreams and very little else. After 7 years now, I've had more fun than I ever expected with this venture and still so much more to be had. I have met so many people that have become great friends and have been great help to me I don't think I could name them all. But, special mention has to go to Mike Fitzgerald of Frontier Music (now defunct) who in the beginning pointed me in the right direction. He also hooked me up with Mike Priest of Country Charm Enterprises who taught me the love of live sound. And big thanks to Amy Kurland of The Bluebird Cafe' who is a wonderful boss and friend. Special thanks goes to Nakia of Creative Graphics who came up with my company logo. |
