RECORDINGS

CURRENT RECORDING RIG:

I currently am using Cubase Elements 10 software for computer recording. I use Zoom's R16 recorder/controller/interface as either a stand alone recorder or as an interface to Cubase. I have iZotope Ozone 7 for mastering and Sound Forge Pro 10 for editing and processing.

I have a collection of microphones to choose from. Several different large diaphram condensers, Shure SM57's and 58's, a couple of pairs of stick condensers, a Shure wireless system for live performances, and other various handhelds.

REMOTE RECORDINGS:

In September of 2019 I set up a recording studio in a paint warehouse to record a 3 song demo for a rock band. I set up my full rig. We tracked the band doing the basic tracks, overdubbed the lead guitar parts, then the vocals. I mixed and mastered the songs back at my home studio. Below is a link to one of those songs.

LIVE RECORDINGS:

I enjoy doing live recordings for demo purposes or school recitals. In the past I have done many projects for the Lebanon Special School District, Lebanon High School, and Trousdale County Schools. I have taken my set-up into a band's rehearsal room and to local clubs.

STUDIO RECORDINGS:

From 2001 through 2010 while in Tennessee, I have engineered at a couple of different studios. Fortune Sound Studio in Lebanon, TN is a very comfortable setting equipped with a 24-track Alesis ADAT hard drive machine. We have done several country and gospel sessions.

Lock 6 Studio in Hartsville, TN offers another alternative for other projects. They offer computer-based recording using Sonar. Lock 6 is also involved in video production.

I also used Frontier Music's 16-track studio prior to their closing.

Bluebird Bells: Painted Candy Canes 2008

The Bluebird Bells' Christmas CD project, Painted Candy Canes and the supporting showcase at the Bluebird Cafe turned out GREAT! Many of my fellow employees (past and present) put forth some great versions of classic holiday tunes as well as the inclusion of three original songs written by our creative staff. This was only the second year of the CD project and the first year for a show. With the wonderful reception they both got!
