Shchedryk/Carol of the Bells - December 2025 The origins of “Carol of the Bells” is rooted in Kyiv, Ukraine. The Ukrainian composer, Mykola Leontovych, published the song in 1916 titled as “Shchedryk”. The lyrics were taken from a traditional Ukrainian New Year’s poem about a swallow that foretells of good fortune for the home in the coming year. During this time, Russia was in the process of trying to wipe out all of Ukrainian culture. In 1919 a group of Ukrainians managed to escape and tour the world to showcase their culture and bring awareness to their struggles. The big hit of the program was their choir’s version of “Shchedryk” giving voice to Ukraine’s plight. In 1921 Leontovych was assassinated in his home by a Soviet state security agent. In 1936 a Ukrainian American in New York, Peter Wilhousky, created English lyrics and titled it “Carol of the Bells” as most know it today. Our video showcases both lyrical versions and contrasts the message of the song against Ukraine’s current conflict with Russia. Click to see the video on YouTube. The Little Drummer Boy - July 2025 The recording of the song started out as a quick acoustic instrumental as I did not want to bother Rita with it.
We already have a recording/video project planned for the end of the year (which got pushed for 2026!). Then I decided to add
electric guitars playing the melody line in 3 octaves. At the end of one of the guitar tracks, you can hear my dog Archie
starting to bark at the thunderstorm that was just coming in.

Five previous members submitted audio and video tracks they created from a basic track sent to them. I shot my video parts solo and with Rita. A TV was placed in some of the shots to use for other clips to superimpose on. In all, this project took four months to complete.

2 Videos - Christmas 2023 Two Christmas music videos from November 2023: "What Child Is This?" and "Jingle Bell Rock". The audio for both were recorded live as we shot the main video footage. The only overdub was the tambourine at the beginning of "Jingle Bell Rock".
A Little Gem From 2010/2019 This is a version of a Beatles song I recorded in early 2010. The song is called Flying. The video was created March 31, 2019. Audio was recorded on a Boss BR-1600CD unit the one and only time I used it as a test. The guitar was a Godin Exit-22 run directly into the recorder using the onboard effects.
